Overview

Maharashtra’s Sandhan Valley, the "Valley of Shadows," is a dramatic rock-cut gorge in the Sahyadris offering lessons in geology and ecology. The surrounding region blends rich natural and cultural heritage: the sprawling 3.5-acre Pemgiri Banyan Tree, the spiritual Siddheshwar Temple, and the 9th-century Hemadpanthi-style Amruteshwar Temple. Alongside scenic Ghatghar and the vital Bhandardara Dam on the Pravara River, these landmarks create an ideal setting for experiential learning, conservation, and adventure.
