RATANGAD TREK

⏱️ 1 Day
Rs. 1,750.00 Per Person

Overview

Discover the hidden jewel of the Sahyadris β€” Ratangad Fort, perched at ~1,297 m above sea level in the Ratanwadi region of Ahmednagar district. This trek is especially magical during August to October, when the slopes wear a carpet of blossoms: golden Sonki (Senecio bombayensis) and, in rare years, purples of Karvi (Strobilanthes) in full bloom.
The route winds through verdant forest trails, rocky patches, and iron ladders. On the climb, you’ll pass the Nedhe (Eye-of-the-Needle) rock opening, Triambak Darwaja, Konkan Darwaja gates, and the ancient Amruteshwar Temple at the base. From the fort top, enjoy sweeping views of Bhandardara Lake, neighboring forts like AMK, Kulang, Harishchandragad, and the vast Sahyadri ridges.
The trek is moderate difficulty, covering ~6 km one way and taking about 3–4 hrs (depending on pace). It’s ideal for nature lovers, photo-enthusiasts, and those wanting a taste of history, bloom, and mountain vistas in one journey.
